Hand-Traced for a Sharper Print

Every artwork in this collection is manually traced line by line by our studio. It is not simply enlarged from a small source image or passed through an automatic filter. Rebuilding the image by hand gives the print clearer contours and more controlled detail.

The Artist: Utagawa Kuniteru

Utagawa Kuniteru worked across historical tales, warriors, actors, and images of a changing Japan. His career reflects the versatility expected of Utagawa-school designers, who translated both old stories and new sights into accessible woodblock prints.

The Story Behind the Artist

Kuniteru's working life crossed a period when old legends and new technology shared the same marketplace. A customer might see warriors and actors beside prints of unfamiliar machines or changing city life. His versatility shows how quickly woodblock artists had to respond to public curiosity.

The T-Shirt

The artwork is printed on the Bella + Canvas 3001 Unisex Staple T-Shirt, the same dependable Printful body used for our GOROKU collection. It is soft and lightweight, with a regular unisex fit and enough stretch for comfortable everyday wear.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle with mild detergent.
• Do not use fabric softener.
• Tumble dry low or hang dry for the longest life.
• Cool iron inside out if needed. Do not iron directly over the print.
• Do not dry clean.
