I’m the Iemoto—the head of ORERYU SOUHONKE. The purpose of putting a message on your clothes that says, “Hug me if you touch my back!“ is not for display. This is to show who I am now without hiding it. People don't live their lives thinking only about what's good. Sometimes a silly honest opinion can save the day and break up a tense atmosphere. Laughter is a break to move forward again.
Humans cannot stay the same every day. Those who admit that they are not feeling well can walk a long path without giving up. If you keep the phrase “Hug me when I touch your back!“ in your heart, the same scenery will look a little different. Words don't magically change reality. It reminds me of the small criteria I use when I am unsure of what to choose. That's why the words, “If you feel a pinch on my back, hug me!“ are not just words you can read. The clothes you choose in the morning, the conversations you have with your friends, the moments you want to stand out in, and the signals that make today's actions just a little more interesting.
