This ORERYU WORLD T-shirt features “本朝水滸伝豪傑百人一個” (Honcho Suikoden One Hundred Heroes), a design attributed to Utagawa Kuniyoshi. We carefully adapt the historic image for a clean, expressive print that can be worn and enjoyed today.

Hand-Traced for a Sharper Print

Every artwork in this collection is manually traced line by line by our studio. It is not simply enlarged from a small source image or passed through an automatic filter. Rebuilding the image by hand gives the print clearer contours and more controlled detail.

The Artist: Utagawa Kuniyoshi

Utagawa Kuniyoshi was one of the great visual storytellers of late Edo-period ukiyo-e. Celebrated for warrior heroes, folklore, cats, humor, and bold experiments with composition, he brought extraordinary imagination and energy to the woodblock print.

The Story Behind the Artist

Kuniyoshi had a gift for turning limits into invention. When publishers faced tighter rules on celebrity and luxury subjects, his world filled with visual riddles, disguised actors, comic monsters, and cats behaving like people. The result feels surprisingly modern: clever, rebellious, and made to reward a second look.

The T-Shirt

The artwork is printed on the Bella + Canvas 3001 Unisex Staple T-Shirt, the same dependable Printful body used for our GOROKU collection. It is soft and lightweight, with a regular unisex fit and enough stretch for comfortable everyday wear.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle with mild detergent.
• Do not use fabric softener.
• Tumble dry low or hang dry for the longest life.
• Cool iron inside out if needed. Do not iron directly over the print.
• Do not dry clean.
